Guidelines for charities supported by Webb Cares

1. Locally based. Horry or surrounding counties.

2. Can be a chapter of a regional or national charity as long as all proceeds serve Horry or surrounding counties.

3. An organization's most recent IRS 990 form or audited or reviewed financial statements will be examined prior to inclusion in Webb Cares charities. Organizations devoting 80% or more of total expenses to program services, with low overhead and operating costs, and with reasonable staff salaries will be considered. Exceptions may be made to these criteria on a case-by-case basis.

4. Priority will be given to those charities that are part of the S.C. Secretary of State Registered Charities list.

5. May accept financial or in-kind contributions from the community.

6. May offer volunteer opportunities to the community.

7. Are 501(c)(3) Nonprofits – exceptions to be considered on a case-by-case basis.

8.  Organizations with a religious or political affiliation will not be considered.
